The 11th Edition of The Voice evaluates FY 2023/24 sector performance to track progress, identify gaps, and guide action towards universal, sustainable WASH and WRM services. The survey engaged 672 organizations (325 CSOs, 347 Social Enterprises/SEs). CSOs ran 1,222 projects, mostly in rural areas, driven by needs (91.4%) over donor priorities.
This 10th edition of the annual CSOs WASH Sector Performance Report, called The Voice, showcases the impact of CSOs on the WASH sector. This was a landmark milestone marking 10 years of consistent reporting of WASH Data. A total of 183 CSOs and 205 SEs participated in FY 2022/23, representing a 21.1% and 33.1% increase, respectively, compared to FY 2021/22.
This Edition of the Voice Report gives a comprehensive look at the performance of CSOs in the WASH sector for the financial year 2021/22. Specifically, it looks at the progress realized, the challenges faced, actions taken, and the potential pathways to improving the performance of the CSOs. The information presented is a synthesis of the Literature Review and structured interviews with 152 CSOs, 149 SEs, and 10 key informant interviews (KIIs).
